Szenátus
The Szenátus, or Senate, is the upper house of the Hungarian Parliament, the National Assembly. It was established in 1848 as part of the Hungarian Parliament, which was then a bicameral legislature. The Szenátus is composed of 106 members, known as senators, who are elected by the counties and the capital city of Budapest. The senators serve five-year terms and are not subject to re-election limits.
