Szenzorméret refers to the physical dimensions of the image sensor within a digital camera or imaging device. It is a crucial specification that significantly impacts image quality, particularly in low light conditions and depth of field control. Larger sensor sizes generally capture more light, leading to better performance in dim environments with less digital noise and a wider dynamic range. Conversely, smaller sensors can be more cost-effective and allow for more compact camera designs.

The most common sensor formats include full-frame, which mimics the size of 35mm film (approximately 36x24mm), APS-C (Advanced Photo System type-C), which is smaller than full-frame, and Micro Four Thirds (MFT), which is even smaller. There are also numerous other formats, such as 1-inch sensors found in some compact cameras and smartphones, and smaller sensors used in mobile phones.

The size of the sensor also influences the field of view for a given focal length lens. A smaller sensor will have a narrower field of view compared to a larger sensor when using the same lens, often referred to as a "crop factor." This means that a lens's effective focal length appears longer on smaller sensors.
