Syvyyden

Syvyyden is the genitive form of the Finnish noun syvyys, which denotes depth, profundity, or an abyss. The term can describe physical depth, such as the depth of the sea or a well, as well as figurative depth, including intellectual, emotional, or existential profundity.

In everyday Finnish, syvyys is used for tangible depth and for figurative depth, and syvyyden is used when a possessive or attributive relation is needed, for example “meren syvyyden mittaaminen” (measuring the sea’s depth) or “syvyyden tunne” (a sense of depth).
