Sutong
Sutong (Chinese: 苏通) is a transliteration used in reference to several related things in Jiangsu Province, China. The most prominent usage is the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge (苏通长江大桥), a cable-stayed bridge that spans the Yangtze River between Nantong on the north bank and Changshu in the Suzhou area on the south bank. Completed and opened in 2008, the bridge forms a key part of a major transport corridor in the Yangtze Delta region. Its main span measures about 1,088 meters, and the overall structure extends roughly 8.2 kilometers in length. The bridge carries multi-lane automobile traffic and is tolled.
