Supremacist

A supremacist is a person who believes that a particular group, usually their own, is superior to all others. This belief in superiority often extends to various aspects of identity, such as race, religion, nationality, or ethnicity. Supremacist ideologies typically assert that the favored group is inherently better in terms of intelligence, morality, culture, or other qualities, and therefore deserves to dominate or hold power over other groups.

These beliefs can manifest in various ways, from discriminatory attitudes and social exclusion to organized political movements and acts of violence. Supremacist movements often advocate for policies that would privilege their own group and disadvantage or oppress others. Historically and currently, such ideologies have been associated with movements like white supremacy, where adherence to the belief that white people are superior to other races is central. Other examples include religious supremacism, where adherents believe their faith is the only true one and its followers are inherently better than those of other faiths, or national supremacism, which posits the superiority of one nation over others. The core tenet remains the conviction of inherent group superiority and the perceived right or duty to assert dominance.
