Suhdanneanalyysi, known in English as business cycle analysis, is the study of the cyclical fluctuations in economic activity. These fluctuations are characterized by periods of expansion, or boom, followed by periods of contraction, or recession. The analysis aims to understand the causes, characteristics, and consequences of these cycles. Key indicators used in suhdanneanalyysi include GDP growth, unemployment rates, inflation, industrial production, and consumer confidence.
