Substratfluss
Substratfluss refers to the movement or transport of a substrate within a biological or chemical system. In biochemistry, it commonly describes the flow of molecules that are acted upon by enzymes. For instance, in cellular respiration, glucose is a substrate that undergoes a series of reactions, and its availability and movement to the enzymes that process it represent a form of substratfluss. Similarly, in enzyme kinetics, the rate at which a substrate binds to and is converted by an enzyme is directly related to substratfluss.
Beyond enzymatic reactions, substratfluss can also be observed in ecological contexts. For example, in nutrient cycling
In materials science and engineering, the term might be used to describe the transfer of a material
