Subarachnoidálního refers to the subarachnoid space, a cavity in the brain filled with cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. This space lies between the arachnoid mater and the pia mater, two of the three meningeal layers that enclose the central nervous system. The cerebrospinal fluid within the subarachnoid space acts as a cushion, protecting the brain and spinal cord from injury, and also plays a role in waste removal and nutrient transport.
