Støbningsmetode

Støbningsmetode refers to the process of creating an object by pouring a liquid or semi-liquid material, such as molten metal, plastic, concrete, or plaster, into a mold. The material then solidifies within the mold, taking on its shape. Once hardened, the object is removed from the mold. This manufacturing technique is widely used across various industries, from art and sculpture to heavy industry and construction.

The basic principle involves creating a cavity that represents the desired shape. This cavity is formed by a mold, which can be made from a variety of materials including sand, metal, wood, or silicone, depending on the casting material and the required precision and durability of the mold. The mold is typically designed in two or more parts to allow for easy removal of the finished casting.

Once the mold is prepared and assembled, the casting material is heated to its molten or liquid state and then poured or injected into the mold cavity. Gravity casting, pressure die casting, and centrifugal casting are common methods for filling the mold. After the material has cooled and solidified, the mold is opened, and the casting is extracted. Post-processing, such as trimming excess material (gates and risers) or surface finishing, may be required. Støbningsmetode allows for the production of complex shapes and intricate designs that might be difficult or impossible to achieve with other manufacturing processes.
