Sturmmannführer

Sturmmannführer was a paramilitary rank in the Sturmabteilung (SA) of the Nazi Party. It was an officer rank, typically equivalent to a junior officer. The term translates roughly to "Storm Unit Leader" or "Assault Leader." Sturmmannführer held responsibility for leading small units of SA men, often referred to as "Stürme" or "Sturmbanne." The specific size and composition of these units could vary.

The rank was established during the early years of the SA's development. Holders of this rank would have been involved in street battles, political demonstrations, and the general enforcement of Nazi ideology.
