Strukturnivåer

Strukturnivåer is a Swedish term that refers to a system of categorizing the structural organization of businesses. The concept was developed in the 1980s by a team of Swedish researchers led by Mats Alvesson and Yvonne Åkerstedt.

The system categorizes businesses into four distinct levels of structural organization, each characterized by a specific combination of formal and informal aspects. The four levels of strukenivåer are:

*0. Netnvå: This level is characterized by minimal formal and informal structure. Businesses at this level are often small and family-owned, with minimal decision-making processes.

*1. Företagsniveå: This level is marked by the emergence of a formal organization structure. Decision-making processes become more formalized, and businesses start to develop specialized departments.

*2. Avdelasniveå: At this level, the business organization becomes more complex and specialized. Formal and informal structures start to interact and influence each other, leading to a more dynamic and adaptive organization.

*3. Projektive: This is the highest level of strukenivåer, characterized by the presence of strong formal and informal structures. Businesses at this level have highly specialized departments and project-based work processes.

The strukenivåer system has been widely used in Swedish organizational research to study the different forms of business organization and their impact on decision-making processes and organizational outcomes.
