Strukturert

Strukturert is a Norwegian adjective meaning organized or arranged according to a defined structure. It describes things that follow a planned format, set rules, or logical sequencing. The word is formed from struktur (structure) and the suffix -ert, and it is the past participle of the verb strukturere (to structure).

In everyday use, strukturert describes plans, documents, processes, or presentations that are clear, consistent, and easy to navigate. Examples: en strukturert plan, en strukturert rapport, or en strukturert tilnærming. It is often contrasted with unstrukturert, meaning unstructured or informal.

In data and information technology, strukturert data is data stored in predefined fields with a schema (for example in relational databases), as opposed to unstrukturert data like free text or media files. In education and business, strukturert method or arbeid is valued for its predictability, repeatability, and ability to scale. In writing and communication, a strukturert format uses sections, headings, bullet points, and logical progression.
