Strouhalfrekvensen

Strouhalfrekvensen is a Norwegian research vessel that has served as a floating laboratory for various scientific studies in the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. The vessel is owned and operated by the Norwegian Research Council (Norges forskningsråd) and is managed by the Institute of Marine Research (Havforskningsinstituttet).

The vessel was built in 1969 and has undergone several renovations and modernizations over the years. It is equipped with state-of-the-art research facilities, including laboratories, tanks, and measuring equipment for various research tasks. Strouhalfrekvensen is approximately 42 meters in length and has a gross tonnage of around 600 tons.

Throughout its career, the vessel has conducted a wide range of research projects, focusing on various aspects of marine science. These projects have included studies on fish stocks, plankton communities, and marine ecosystems. Scientists from various disciplines have used the vessel for research on marine biology, chemistry, geology, and physics.
