Streueinsätze

Streueinsätze, often translated as spreaders or broadcasting devices, are agricultural implements used for the even distribution of solid materials across a field. These materials can include fertilizers, seeds, granular pesticides, or even sand and salt for winter road maintenance. The primary function of a streueinsatz is to achieve uniform coverage, which is crucial for optimal crop growth, efficient pest control, and effective de-icing.

There are several types of streueinsätze, each designed for specific applications and materials. Centrifugal spreaders, also known as spinner spreaders, utilize a rotating disc or fan to fling material outwards. They are commonly used for broadcasting seeds and fertilizers over large areas. Pendulum or pneumatic spreaders offer a different method of application. Pendulum spreaders oscillate a tube back and forth, dropping material at a consistent rate, while pneumatic spreaders use an air stream to convey and distribute the material.

The design of a streueinsatz influences its application rate, working width, and the uniformity of the spread pattern. Factors such as the shape and size of the hopper, the type of spreading mechanism, and the settings for material flow and disc speed are all adjustable to suit different needs. Proper calibration and operation of a streueinsatz are essential to avoid over-application or under-application of materials, which can lead to crop damage, waste of resources, or ineffective results. Modern streueinsätze often incorporate advanced features like variable rate application technology, allowing for precise adjustments based on GPS data and field mapping.
