Storey

Storey is a term used to denote a single level of a building. In British English, the spelling storey is standard, while in American English the corresponding term is story. Buildings may be described as single-storey, two-storey, three-storey, and so on. Each storey represents the space between two adjacent floors (or between a floor and the ceiling above) and typically contains rooms, corridors, and building services. In British usage the ground level is often the first storey, whereas some systems count the ground floor separately and label the upper levels accordingly.
