StopLimitKaufaufträge, also known as stop-limit buy orders, are a type of conditional trading order used in financial markets. They combine features of both stop orders and limit orders, providing traders with more control over the price at which they enter a long position. A stop-limit buy order is triggered when the market price of an asset reaches a specified stop price. However, unlike a standard stop order, it does not guarantee execution at any price. Instead, once the stop price is reached, the order becomes a limit order. This means the purchase will only be executed at the specified limit price or better (a lower price).

The primary purpose of a stop-limit buy order is to enter a position at a favorable price, avoiding the risk of buying at an unexpectedly high price if the asset's value is rapidly increasing. Traders typically set the stop price above the current market price, anticipating a potential upward price movement that will trigger the order. The limit price is then set at or slightly above the stop price, ensuring that the purchase will not exceed a predetermined maximum price. If the price continues to rise rapidly beyond the limit price after the stop price is hit, the order may not be filled, or only partially filled. This differentiates it from a stop-buy order, which would execute at the prevailing market price once triggered. Understanding the interplay between the stop and limit prices is crucial for effective use of this order type.
