Stigbøyle

Stigbøyle is a Norwegian term that translates to "stirrup" in English. A stirrup is a loop or ring, usually made of metal, attached to a saddle by a strap. It is designed for the rider's foot to rest in, providing support and stability while riding a horse. Stirrups allow the rider to stand up in the saddle, assist in mounting and dismounting, and maintain balance, especially during strenuous activities like jumping or galloping.
