Staphylococcussuvut
Staphylococcussuvut are a group of Gram-positive bacteria belonging to the genus Staphylococcus. They are non-spore-forming cocci that typically arrange themselves in grape-like clusters and are facultative anaerobes. They are catalase-positive, which helps distinguish them from streptococci, and many species produce coagulase. The primary division is into coagulase-positive Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS) such as S. epidermidis, S. saprophyticus, and S. lugdunensis. These organisms are common inhabitants of human skin and mucous membranes and can be opportunistic pathogens.
Habitat and transmission: They colonize the anterior nares, skin folds, and perineum in a significant portion
Pathogenic potential: S. aureus is a leading cause of skin and soft tissue infections, pneumonia, osteomyelitis,
Diagnosis and treatment: Laboratory diagnosis relies on culture, Gram stain, catalase testing, and, for S. aureus,
Prevention: Infection control, hand hygiene, wound care, and, for carriers, decolonization strategies in certain settings. There
