Methods include corpus linguistics, discourse and functional analysis, cross-linguistic comparison, and field studies of real-world communications.

Applications span technical manuals, safety instructions, legal documents, customer-service scripts, public-facing communications, and multilingual information systems. In translation and localization, standardfrasology guides the consistent rendering of fixed expressions and reduces risk of misinterpretation.
