Sraoa

Sraoa is a fictional sovereign state and cultural region in the northern part of the continent of Elarion, within a contemporary fantasy setting. It stretches along a western coastline and into forested highlands, with a population that is diverse and multilingual. Srao serves as the dominant lingua franca in the coastal areas.

The name derives from the Srao language, reflecting historical ties to river trade routes that linked inland settlements with the coast.

Sraoa began as a loose federation of coastal city-states in the late medieval period and became a constitutional republic in the 19th century. The country is divided into twelve regions, each with a regional council. The national government comprises a president and a bicameral legislature, with an independent judiciary.
