Sprstoff

Sprstoff is a German-language term that historically can denote a substance used to generate propulsion, i.e., a propellant or fuel. In contemporary standard German, the term is not common; the typical words are Treibstoff for fuels used in engines or Brennstoff for combustible fuels. Sprstoff survives in some older technical writings, dialects, or as a nonstandard form and is usually considered archaic or imprecise.
