Sprinklersüsteemi

Sprinklersüsteemi, commonly known as a sprinkler system, is an active fire protection method consisting of a water supply system, providing adequate pressure and flowrate to a water distribution piping system, onto which fire sprinklers are connected. Sprinklers are heat-activated devices. In a fire, the heat generated causes a thermal element (usually a glass bulb or a fusible link) to break or melt, releasing the orifice cap and allowing water to flow. Most sprinklers are designed to activate only when a specific temperature is reached, and the sprinkler head directly over the fire will activate first. This localized activation minimizes water damage to unaffected areas.

Sprinkler systems can be broadly categorized into wet pipe systems, dry pipe systems, pre-action systems, and deluge systems. Wet pipe systems have water constantly in the pipes. Dry pipe systems store air under pressure in the pipes and release it when a sprinkler activates, allowing water to enter. Pre-action systems require both a sprinkler head activation and a separate fire detection signal to release water. Deluge systems release water from all sprinkler heads simultaneously upon activation of a detection system. These systems are crucial in safeguarding lives and property from the devastating effects of fire.
