Sparerai

Sparerai is the second-person singular form of the Italian verb sparare in the future indicative tense. Sparare means to shoot, typically with a firearm, but it can also be used in broader contexts to indicate discharging something at a target. Sparerai, therefore, translates to “you will shoot” and is used when addressing someone directly about a future action.

The verb sparare is a regular -are verb, and its future tense endings are added to the stem spar-: io sparerò, tu sparerai, lui/lei sparerà, noi spareremo, voi sparerete, loro spareranno. Thus sparerai follows the standard pattern for the io/tu/lui/lei forms in the future tense. When negated, it appears as “tu non sparerai.” It can also be combined with pronouns in compound sentences, as in “Sparerai a quel bersaglio domani,” meaning you will shoot at that target tomorrow.

In usage, sparare and forms like sparerai occur in a variety of contexts, including sports shooting, military or policing dialogue, and fictional writing. Because sparare denotes discharging a projectile, its future form sparerai is most commonly encountered in explicit references to future shooting actions. The form itself is not a noun or name and does not carry independent meaning outside its grammatical role as a verb form.
