Spörer
Spörer is a lunar crater located on the far side of the Moon, named after the German astronomer Gustav Spörer. It is situated in the southern hemisphere, near the lunar south pole, and is characterized by its irregular shape and multiple small craters within its walls. The crater's rim is eroded and irregular, with a central peak that is lower and less prominent than in many other lunar craters. Spörer is approximately 50 kilometers in diameter and has a depth of about 2.5 kilometers.
The crater's formation is believed to have occurred during the Late Imbrian period, around 3.8 billion years
Spörer is of interest to scientists due to its location near the lunar south pole, where there
