Soundcraft is a British company that manufactures professional audio mixing consoles, loudspeakers, and other studio equipment. The brand was established in the 1960s as part of the Centerline Group, and it quickly gained a reputation for producing high‑quality, cost‑effective equipment for recording studios and live‑sound operators.

The company’s early consoles, such as the Soundcraft 25-12 and 40-10 series, featured solid‑state circuitry and user‑friendly layouts that appealed to both engineers and performers. In the 1970s and 1980s, Soundcraft expanded its lineup with the 25‑8 and 12‑8 analog mixers, which were widely adopted in independent studios and touring rigs. The introduction of the 2250 and 2500 consoles marked a transition to semi‑digital technology, incorporating programmable parameters while retaining analogue warmth. Throughout the 1990s, the company continued to innovate with modules that added effects, phantom power, and digital recording interfaces to its analog platforms.

In 2003, Soundcraft was acquired by the German audio‑equipment firm, SE Electronics, and later became part of the Soundcraft division under the larger industry group. Today the brand maintains a diverse product range that includes classic analog mixers, hybrid digital‑analog systems, and loudspeaker solutions such as the Soundcraft Loudspeakers Series. The company remains respected for its balance of affordability, build quality, and ease of use, and its consoles are routinely used in recording studios, broadcast facilities, and concert venues worldwide.
