Sorek
Sorek is a toponym of Hebrew origin used for a biblical valley and river in the coastal plain of present-day Israel. In the Hebrew Bible, the Valley of Sorek is described in the Book of Judges as the place where Samson became involved with Delilah, and where the Philistines plotted against him. The precise location of the valley is not agreed upon, and different identifications have been proposed by scholars; it is generally associated with the fertile lands of the coastal plain and the Shephelah.
In modern times, the name Sorek survives in Israeli geography, including a stream known as Nahal Sorek,
