Skoletrinn
Skoletrinn is a term used in the Norwegian education system to refer to the individual grade levels within the compulsory part of schooling, known as grunnskolen. Grunnskolen spans ten school years, typically from age six or seven to around fifteen or sixteen, and comprises 1. trinn through 10. trinn. The concept is used to structure the curriculum, learning goals, and progression, with national standards guiding what students should learn at each trinn. While the terms barneskole (early primary) and ungdomsskole (lower secondary) are sometimes used locally to describe older groupings, the formal division in policy and administration centers on the ten skoletrinn.
Each trinn represents a step in student development, with the national curriculum outlining aims and competencies
