Skellefte

Skellefte is a town located in northern Sweden, in the province of Västerbotten. It is situated on the E4 highway, approximately 100 kilometers northeast of Umeå, the provincial capital, and about 15 kilometers from the coast of the Bothnian Sea. The town is part of the Skellefteå municipality, which is one of Sweden's largest by area.

Historically, Skellefteå has been known for its rich mining industry. The discovery of significant mineral deposits, particularly copper, lead, and zinc, in the early 20th century, laid the foundation for the region's economic development. This has led to the establishment of major mining companies and related industries in and around the town.
