Skaer is a fictional port city and provincial capital in the northern coast of Eldoria, a fantasy continent. It sits at the mouth of the Nial River on Skar Bay, with a temperate maritime climate of mild summers and wet winters. The name Skaer derives from the old Skaeran word for shorehold.

History: Founded by seafaring clans in the 9th century, Skaer emerged as a trading hub because of its protected harbor. It became the capital of Skaer Province in the medieval era and gained a measure of autonomy within the regional confederation. The city endured sieges during regional conflicts and rebuilt after major floods in the 17th century.
