Självladdande

Självladdande is a Swedish term that translates to "self-loading" or "semi-automatic" in English. It refers to a mechanism in firearms where the energy from a fired cartridge is used to eject the spent casing and chamber a new round of ammunition. This allows the shooter to fire subsequent shots by simply pulling the trigger again, without the need for manual cocking or reloading between each shot.

This operating system is distinct from manual actions like bolt-action or pump-action firearms, where the shooter must manually manipulate a part of the firearm to cycle the action. It is also different from fully automatic firearms, which continue to fire as long as the trigger is held down, continuously cycling the action. Självladdande firearms fire one round per trigger pull.
