Sirindhorn

Sirindhorn, fully titled Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, is a Thai royal princess and a member of the Chakri dynasty. Born on 2 April 1955, she is the third child of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit and the sister of King Vajiralongkorn. Renowned for her scholarly interests and extensive public service, she has played a leading role in education, culture, science, and humanitarian work in Thailand and in international diplomacy through royal visits and collaborations.

Her education included studies at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok and further studies abroad, reflecting a broad focus on history, archaeology, and the sciences. She has served as patron or founder of numerous universities, museums, libraries, and research initiatives. Through these roles she has promoted scholarships for students, cultural preservation, and rural development, and she has supported science and technology programs, healthcare, and disaster relief.

Internationally, Sirindhorn has represented Thailand on state visits, conferences, and cultural exchanges, helping to strengthen diplomatic ties and cultural understanding. She has received many honors and honorary degrees from institutions around the world in recognition of her public service and scholarly contributions.
