Siitosprosessi refers to the process of embryo implantation in mammals. It is a complex and crucial stage of sexual reproduction, where a fertilized egg, now a blastocyst, attaches to and penetrates the uterine lining, the endometrium. This process is tightly regulated by hormonal signals, primarily progesterone and estrogen, which prepare the uterus for pregnancy.
