Sihttulemused

Sihttulemused is Estonian for target outcomes. It denotes the measurable results that an organization sets to achieve as part of planning, execution, and evaluation. The term is formed from siht meaning target or goal, and tulemused meaning results.

Concept and scope: Sihttulemused function as defined outcomes that organisations aim to realize, aligning performance with strategic objectives. They are similar to, or sometimes used interchangeably with, key performance indicators (KPIs) or objectives and key results (OKRs), though usage can differ between organizations and sectors. A sihttulemuse should be specific, measurable, and linked to a time frame.

Application and practice: In planning documents, project dashboards, and reporting cycles, sihttulemused guide what data are collected and how performance is assessed. They help prioritize actions, allocate resources, and attribute responsibility when targets are not met.

Examples: For a marketing campaign, sihttulemused might include achieving a 12–15% click-through rate and a 3% conversion rate; for a public service project, reducing average processing time by 20% within 12 months; for a product release, completing critical features by the planned date.
