Signaalitüübid refers to the classification of signals based on their characteristics and how they are represented. Signals are fundamental to communication and information transfer, and understanding their types is crucial for analyzing and processing them. One primary distinction is between analog and digital signals. Analog signals are continuous and vary smoothly over time, mirroring the physical phenomenon they represent. Examples include sound waves or temperature fluctuations. Digital signals, on the other hand, are discrete, representing information as a sequence of binary values, typically 0s and 1s. This discretization allows for easier storage, manipulation, and error correction.

Another important classification relates to the signal's dimensionality and time dependence. Time-varying signals change over time, while time-invariant signals do not. Signals can also be classified as deterministic, where their future behavior is predictable, or stochastic, which exhibit randomness. Periodic signals repeat themselves over regular intervals, while aperiodic signals do not. Furthermore, signals can be categorized by their frequency content, such as low-frequency or high-frequency signals, and by their bandwidth.
