Sidr
Sidr, also known as Ziziphus mauritiana, is a species of fruit-bearing plant in the family Rhamnaceae. It is native to South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Australia, but has been widely introduced and naturalized in many tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. The plant is a thorny shrub or small tree, typically growing up to 15 meters in height. It has glossy, oval-shaped leaves and produces small, edible fruits that are round to oval in shape, ranging in color from red to brown when ripe.
The fruit of the sidr plant is consumed fresh, dried, or processed into jams, jellies, and beverages.
