SickleCellGen

SickleCellGen is a hypothetical gene or genetic marker that could be associated with sickle cell disease. Sickle cell disease is a group of inherited red blood cell disorders. In sickle cell disease, the red blood cells contain an abnormal form of hemoglobin, a protein that carries oxygen. Normally, red blood cells are round and flexible, moving easily through blood vessels.
