Shishunaga
The Shishunaga dynasty ruled a significant portion of ancient India roughly from the 7th to the 5th century BCE. The dynasty's origin is somewhat shrouded in legend, with early accounts suggesting a founding by Shishunaga himself, a ruler who may have been of foreign origin or a local chieftain who rose to power. The capital of the Shishunaga kingdom was initially Rajagriha, the former capital of the Magadha kingdom, before being moved to Pataliputra.
