Shingo

Shingo is a town located in Aomori Prefecture, Japan. Situated in the northern part of Honshu, the town forms part of the prefecture’s rural landscape and is known for its local agriculture and cultural heritage.

As a given name or surname, Shingo is used in Japan. Notable individuals include Shingo Katori (born 1977), a Japanese actor, singer, and former member of the boy band SMAP.

Shigeo Shingo (1909–1990) was a Japanese industrial engineer whose work on quality control and the Toyota Production System influenced modern lean manufacturing. The Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence, named in his honor, recognizes organizations that demonstrate outstanding operational performance. It is administered by the Center for Lean Enterprise at Utah State University.
