Seroosakalvo
The seroosakalvo, or "serous membrane," is a thin, delicate layer of tissue that lines certain body cavities and covers the organs within them. It consists of two layers: the parietal layer, which lines the walls of the cavity, and the visceral layer, which directly covers the organs. The seroosakalvo produces a small amount of serous fluid, a clear, lubricating substance that reduces friction between the layers during movement.
In the human body, serous membranes are found in several key areas. The pleura surrounds the lungs
Diseases or conditions affecting the seroosakalvo can lead to complications such as inflammation (pleurisy, pericarditis, or
The seroosakalvo is also present in some animals, where it serves similar protective and lubricating functions.
