Serik

Serik is a coastal district of Antalya Province in southern Turkey, situated along the Mediterranean coast on the so-called Turkish Riviera. The administrative center of the district is the town of Serik. The area combines coastal resort zones with inland agricultural countryside, and it forms part of the broader Antalya metropolitan area.

One of the district’s main economic drivers is tourism. The Belek area within Serik is known for its luxury hotels and world-class golf courses, attracting visitors from Turkey and abroad. Outside Belek, the hinterland features agricultural activity, including olive groves and citrus orchards, and a number of small villages that contribute to the rural character of the district.

Serik hosts several important historical and archaeological sites. The most prominent is the ancient city of Aspendos, renowned for its remarkably preserved Roman theatre and nearby remains from classical antiquity, located near the village of Belkıs along the Köprüçay River. The area forms part of the historic region of Pamphylia and preserves remnants from antiquity that reflect its long-standing significance in the region.

Transportation in Serik relies on the regional road network linking coastal towns to the city of Antalya and other districts. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters, supporting both tourism and agricultural activities. The population includes residents of Serik town and surrounding settlements, with a seasonal increase in visitors during the summer months.
