Sentromeerin

Sentromeerin is a fictional regulatory molecule described in speculative biology and science fiction as a centromere-associated factor that influences chromosome segregation during cell division. The name blends centromere with a common fictional-sounding suffix, and there is no counterpart in established scientific nomenclature.

In fictional accounts, sentromeerin localizes to centromeric chromatin during mitosis, interacts with kinetochore complexes, and stabilizes microtubule attachments by modulating the recruitment of kinetochore proteins. Its activity is often depicted as essential for accurate chromosome alignment, with deficiency or overexpression producing mis-segregation phenotypes described in speculative analyses.

Structural depictions vary. Some sources describe sentromeerin as a small regulatory protein of unknown structure; others present it as a noncoding RNA or a metabolite. There is no canonical sequence, structure, or mechanism in real-world biochemistry because the molecule is not described in empirical studies.
