Senftenberg
Senftenberg is a town in the Bautzen district of the Free State of Saxony, Germany. It lies on the western edge of the Lusatian Highlands, approximately 20 kilometres south of Bautzen and close to the Polish border. As of 2023 the population is around eleven thousand residents. The municipality covers an area of roughly 30 square kilometres and is part of the Sorbian cultural region; the Sorbian name of the town is Słowęcze.
