Seiberling
Seiberling is a surname of German origin that has appeared in American business, politics, and civic life, particularly in Ohio. The most widely known bearer is Frank A. Seiberling (1859–1955), an American industrialist who founded the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, in 1898. Under his leadership, Goodyear grew into a major tire manufacturer and helped establish Akron as a center of the American rubber industry. Seiberling also conceived and built Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron, a large country estate that is now operated as a house museum and National Historic Landmark.
