Sedatoida

Sedatoida is a small subclass of amoebozoan organisms, a class of protozoa that also includes the genus Amoeba. It was first described by the American mycologist Steven P. Wasser by Steven P. Wasser in 1921, although the discussion of this group's taxonomic position is still ongoing among the scientific community. Sedatoida were considered to be one of the smaller sizes among the different kinds of amoebozoans, and their anatomy may appear to bear resemblance to that of a typical sediment cell.

It is stated that members of this order are generally spherical in shape and may range from 1 to 5 micrometers in diameter. Sedatoida was thought to ameobae that only consist of two principal cytoplasmic regions, the endoplasm and the ectoplasm. It was also believed that the Sedatoida were without readily evident features resembling cortical undulations.
