Seabanks

Seabanks is a fictional coastal town in the Coastlands region along the northwest coast. The name reflects its location beside a sheltered shoreline and a natural harbor that has supported local fishing and trade.

It sits on a crescent bay with rocky headlands, a protected harbor, and two beaches. It experiences a temperate maritime climate, with mild winters, cool summers, and roughly 800 to 1000 millimetres of precipitation annually.

The town's history begins in the 17th century, founded by fishing communities; Seabanks grew around its harbor, later expanding to shipyards and a market town. The arrival of rail in the 19th century boosted trade and tourism, with diversification into services in the late 20th century.

The population is around 7,800. The economy relies on commercial fishing, aquaculture, tourism, and harbor services, with maritime activity complemented by local shops, restaurants, and small manufacturers.

Notable sites include Seabanks Lighthouse, the Marine Reserve, and the Old Granary. Cultural life centers on the Seabanks Museum and the annual Seabanks Festival. Governance is via a town council within Westhaven County.
