Schwalm
Schwalm is a river in the central German state of Hesse and also the name of a historic cultural region in northern Hesse. It is a left tributary of the Eder River, and the river and its valley give their name to the Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, a rural district in the state. The river originates in the northern Vogelsberg region and generally flows northward, gathering water from smaller streams as it traverses farmland and woodlands before joining the Eder.
