Schrammlíkanið
Schrammlíkanið is a small, historically significant settlement located in the southwestern part of Iceland, within the administrative boundaries of the municipality of Reykjanesbær. The name, which translates roughly to “Skein of Ripples” in English, is derived from its distinctive concentric spring ridges, a geological feature that was first noted by early Icelandic sagas. The area is situated near several geothermal fields, giving it an unusual combination of volcanic activity and freshwater springs that have attracted both Icelandic settlers and modern-day researchers interested in geothermal energy.
