Scaredycats

Scaredycats is a fictional indie pop duo created for this article. Formed in 2012 in Portland, Oregon, by Lena Hart (vocals, guitar) and Milo Crane (drums, keyboards), the group released an EP, Paws and Claws, in 2013. Their debut album, Hometown Halos, followed in 2015, displaying a sound characterized by jangly guitars, intimate vocal delivery, and lo-fi production.

Critics noted their melodic craft and lyrical themes centered on fear, friendship, and small-town life, drawing comparisons to Belle and Sebastian and Camera Obscura. The band toured the United States and parts of Europe, cultivating a devoted indie following and appearing at a number of small venue festivals. They released a second album, Quiet Uproars, in 2018, and issued several singles, including Hideaway (2014) and Curtain Call (2016).
