Saysetthathirath
Saysetthathirath (also spelled Saysetthathirath or Sa‑Seth‑athirath) was a king of the Lan Xang kingdom in what is now Laos. He came to the throne in the early‑fourteenth century and reigned during a period of consolidation and territorial expansion for the Lao state. Historical chronicles indicate that he continued the policies of his predecessor, strengthening centralized control and integrating the various Lao principalities that had previously been semi‑autonomous vassals.
