Sayfawa
The Sayfawa, also spelled Saifawa or Sefawa, is the name of the ruling dynasty of the Kanem-Bornu Empire, a historic state in the Lake Chad region. The Sayfawa provided most of the emperors of Kanem-Bornu, whose rulers held the title Mai and governed a trans-Saharan realm that flourished from roughly the 8th or 9th century until the late 19th century.
